Whilst this was our first build, we were quite specific on what we wanted and we found it very easy to talk to Norm, he worked with us by suggesting ideas and he made all the steps in the process clear for us. From inception, he met us at the site to talk through the building process, the quote was clear in its inclusions / exclusions and optional upgrades. Verbal discussions on changes were emailed for both parties’ clarity or if missed, he honoured consensus agreements in those discussions in the right spirit which was refreshing. This fostered the right builder / client relationship with respect to any curve balls we experienced during the build – we had confidence or trust level that he was being honest and would do the right thing from our perspective.
Being our first build, we were also quite excited to be a part of it and it was a comfortable process touching base at the site almost daily to review progress, provide feedback if required and interact with the team. All the tradespeople were very accommodating and did a great job at what they did especially with some of the more fiddly stone work that came off exactly as we had hoped and looks amazing. The standard list of inclusions allowed for the build were of a high quality and the use of the local suppliers, allowed us to get the tactile experience in seeing what we were going to get, substitute or swap concepts as required. Tile choice is always a challenge in knowing what can work and how it will look in real life when everything is installed. The local team were always very patient and helpful and sample tiles were invaluable in knowing that we would get the look we were after.
We were extremely happy with the build timeline and the quality of finish of our new family home and is a testament to Norm Wales Construction personnel and his committed team of associated tradespeople – thanks guys!
